Ending a Resuscitation

The medical aspects of this case are a straightforward cardiac arrest where the team must recognize futility and make the decision to stop resuscitation efforts. The primary goal is experiencing making a decision on calling a code and managing the impacts of a patient’s death.

This provides additional optional opportunities:

Optional (junior or senior) – breaking bad news to family member

Optional (senior) – simulated hot debrief of the case with the team
